is a monthly gathering of young people
for Adoration of the Blessed Sacr ament.
The liturgy involves music, modern and
tr aditional hymns, silence and listening to
and discussing the Word of God. It is a great
oppor tunity to spend time in personal and
communal pr ayer. After wards, everyone is

50th Anniversary -- Our Lady of
Victories Church Shortland
Celebrations will be held on Sunday 9

Walking the Camino
Experience an audio-visual presentation by
Peter Kearney on Saturday 15 November
at 11.00am and 2.00pm, Centr al Region
Catholic Centre, 25 Farquhar Street, The
Junction. An 80-minute presentation
featuring photogr aphs with music, played
and shown on a large screen television with
Peter's live commentary. The Camino de
Santiago is a path to the burial place of St
James the Apostle which has been walked
by pilgrims for over 1000 year s . In 2012,
Peter walked 700km along the Camino
Fr ances, from St Jean Pied de Por t to
Santiago de Compostela in nor th-west
Spain. Beautiful landscapes, interesting
pilgrims, camino practicalities. Donation
$10 /$8 concession at door. Limited seating.

Hunter Friends of L'Arche -- 50th
Anniversary International Federation
On Friday 28 November 10am-12 noon a
concer t with John Coleman and his team
will be held. On the same date from 6pm-
8pm a Community For um will take place to
highlight the implications and challenges of
the National Disability Insur ance Scheme
for people with intellectual disability. On
Saturday 29 November the 50th Anniversary
Celebrations occur with the launch of a
new book My Home in L'Arche. All functions
will be held at St Matthew's Anglican Hall, 7

Choral Society Christmas Concert
The 37th Christmas concer t from around
the world will be held Sunday 7 December
from 7pm at Sacred Hear t Cathedr al, Hunter
St Newcastle West. Many renowned choirs
and individuals take par t in this event including

In 2015 a vacancy will occur on the diocesan
Catholic Schools Council and Bishop Bill
is seeking expressions of interest from
people who feel they would bring skills
and exper tise to the Council. The Council
dr aws on experience from a r ange of areas,
including, but not limited to, the field of
education, financial planning and management,
gover nance, theology and pastoral care. The
Council meets five times a year and advises
Bishop Bill in all matter s relating to the nature
and purpose of diocesan schools. Council
members are also involved in major diocesan
events and consultation with key stakeholder
