the Chisholm (Maitland) Region.

St Nicholas visits Newcastle
The local Dutch community will
celebrate the official arrival and
celebration of St Nicholas, Patron
Saint of children, this year for the 57th
time. This celebration will be held on
Saturday 7 December at Marmong
Park, George Street, Marmong Point.
Activities will commence at midday
and a traditional sausage sizzle and
the famous little pancakes (poffertjes)
will again be available. The day is
free but children attending must be

This is a Eucharistic Adoration
ser vice created by young people
for young people. Contemporary
music combines with prayer,
gospel reading and periods of
silent reflection before the Eucharist
to create a beautiful modern
service. Please come along
and bring friends at 7.00pm on
Wednesday 11 December and
the second Wednesday of each
month thereafter, at Sacred Heart
Cathedral, 841 Hunter St, Newcastle
West. All are welcome for coffee and
a chat afterwards at Eurobar Café,

Carols in the Cloister
This annual event will be held in
the chapel of St Joseph's Convent,
New England Hwy, Lochinvar on
Sunday 15 December at 6.30pm.

Council and Bishop Bill is seeking
expressions of interest from those
who feel they would bring skills and
expertise (not only in the field of
education). The Council meets five
times a year and advises Bishop Bill
in all matters relating to the nature
and purpose of diocesan schools.

Living Waters Meditation Centre
Meditation is a wonderful way to
begin 2014. Meditation is helpful
in times of spiritual crisis and
physical stress. Meditation will bring
simplicity to your life. If you have
meditated before, this is a way to
reconnect with your inner self. We

Christian Meditation, beginning

The Diocese of Broome, WA, needs
volunteers to assist with the work
of the local church on Aboriginal
Missions. There are various
voluntary tasks: administration,
building maintenance, gardening,

etc. Placements are preferred for at
least 12 months but a reduced time

Inner City Senior Singles Social
This group was formed in
September 2007 to provide a

If you have a Graduate Certifcate
in Theology or Religious Education
degree from the last four years, you
may be able to complete our Master of
Theology (including MTh-RE) program by
undertaking only four more courses. The
MTh is currently eight courses until 2015.
The rules are changing so APPLY BY
JUNE 2014 while the Graduate Certifcate
still articulates as half a Master's degree.
