Meditation is a wonder ful way to begin

"Discipleship Today: Invitation and
The Tenison Woods Education Centre

Father Anthony Gittins CSSp speak
on "Discipleship Today: Invitation
and Challenge". Fr Gittins will speak
on Wednesday 12 February at
Souths Leagues Club, 46 Llewellyn St,
Merewether, 9.30am -- 3.30pm. Cost is
$20 per per son which includes morning
tea and lunch. Fr Gittins is an experienced
missionary pastor and Professor of
Theology and Culture at Catholic
Theological Union. He is a member of the
Congregation of the Holy Spirit. For the
past 25 years he has worked with and
among homeless women on the streets of
Chicago. Previously he worked for almost
a decade with the Mende people of
Sier ra Leone West Africa as a missionary

Seasons for Growth
This is a loss and grief education program
that assists people to deal with change
and loss, enabling them to lead happier
and more fulfilled lives. Companion
Training for both young people and adults
will be offered throughout 2014.
Adult Tr aining will be held on Wed-Thur s
26-27 February and Wed-Thur s 27-28
August in Newcastle. Young People's
Training will be held on Tues-Wed 18 -19
March in Nelson Bay, Wed-Thur s 30- 31
July in Forster and Wed-Thurs 19-20

The Contact Group in the Diocese of
Maitland-Newcastle will be celebr ating
International Women's Day on Sunday 9
March beginning with Mass at the Sacred
Hear t Cathedr al Hamilton at 9.30am.
Morning tea will follow in the Toohey
Room, adjacent to the Cathedr al. A panel
of local Catholic women will speak briefly
about some aspect of their lives and this
will be followed by a question and answer
session. The theme for Inter national
Women's Day 2014 is "Ending Pover ty
for Women and Girls through Economic
